The North Carolina Aquarium offers new program – A two-day celebration of our amphibian and reptile friends will take place on March 7th and 8th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Visitors will have an opportunity to see, touch and learn about our cold-blooded neighbors. Kure Beach Community Center’s Annual Spirit Awards – The Kure Beach Community Center Spirit Awards Dinner will be held on Saturday, March 21st at 6:00 p.m. The Community Spirit Awards recognize and honor Kure Beach residents who have demonstrated outstanding service as a volunteer to the Kure Beach community. The event will be catered by Bon Appetit. Tickets are $16.00 per person and are available at the Kure Beach Town Hall or from any Community Center Committee member. On Monday, February 2nd, the Fort Fisher Ferry will resume its regular schedule with the first ferry scheduled to leave Southport at 5:30 a.m. Anyone having a Commuter Pass that was valid during December or January can have their pass expiration date extended for two months. As a bonus, the audience will be able to participate as they are charged with being the jury and will decide the Big Bad Wolf’s fate. "Big Bad" will be playing at the Katie B.
