Shanty’s Beach and Blues Club to Host Halloween Party – On Saturday, October 31st from 2:00 until Midnight, Shanty’s will be hosting a Halloween party as a benefit for Shag Instructor Roan Grooms to help defray the cost of her recent hospital bills. The Craig Woolard Band, Mark Roberts & Breeze and The Fantastic Shakers will be appearing along with Deejays Joey Warren and Steve Carter. Singes are %15.00 and couples are $25.00. There will be $2 domestic beer, $1 12 oz. draft beer, $3 wine and $3 margaritas. Additionally hot dogs and pizza will be served for a donation. United State Police Canine Association – The Carolina Beach and Kure Beach Police Department K-9 Units have the honor of hosting the Region 2 Police Dog Field Trials. This is the first time the Trials are being held in Carolina Beach and is a weeklong event expected to bring up to 50 K-9 teams to Pleasure Island.
