Red and White Fundraiser for the Red Cross to be held at Beau Rivage – The 2nd Annual Red & White Fundraiser will be held on October 23rd from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. at Beau Rivage. Tickets will be $35/person or $60/couple. This includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, over 40 varieties of wine, plenty of micro-brew beers to taste and a silent auction. Ashley High School Athletic Boosters to Host Golf Tournament – On Saturday, October 24th, the Ashley Screaming Eagles Football will host a "Swinging Iron for the Gridiron" Golf Tournament at the Wilmington Municipal Golf Course. Howl-oween Pawty to be held at Coastal K-9 Bakery – On Saturday, October 24th from 2-4 p.m. bring your pets to Coastal K-9 Bakery for a Howl-oween Pawty. Costume judging is at 3:00 and there will be doggie games and lots of fun. There will also be dog & human treats, doggie cake and daiquiris and witch’s brew. Free Assistance with Advance Care Planning – Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center is offering free assistance with advance care planning. The session helps identify health care choices and suggests ways to begin communicating them to family and health care providers. It explains the use of Advance Directives to legally express your choices. The sessions will be held on October 27th at 7:00 p.m. and October 28th at 2:00 p.m. at the Hospice office at 1414 Physicians Drive in Wilmington. Trick or Treat Under the Sea – October 28 & 29 from 5-8:30 p.m., the Aquarium at Fort Fisher presents Trick or Treat Under the Sea featuring No Sleeves Magic. United State Police Canine Association – The Carolina Beach and Kure Beach Police Department K-9 Units have the honor of hosting the Region 2 Police Dog Field Trials. This is the first time the Trials are being held in Carolina Beach and is a weeklong event expected to bring up to 50 K-9 teams to Pleasure Island. On October 29th at 8:00 drop by Mike Chappell Park in Carolina Beach to observe the Obedience and Agility portion of the trials.
