Harbor Masters offers Pleasure Island Locals Appreciation Night – On Thursday, December 18th at 7:00 p.m., all Pleasure Island locals are invited to come out to Harbor Masters for Locals Appreciation Night. Whether you live here on the Island or your business is based on the Island, you are invited. Harbor Masters will be offering drink specials and hors d’oeuvres including shrimp, chili, grouper nuggets, crab dip and more. Musical entertainment will be provided by David Wade of Music Tyme Entertainment. Harbor Masters is located at 315 Canal Drive in Carolina Beach.

Island of Lights Tour of Homes has been Cancelled – Unfortunately this year’s Island of Lights Tour of Homes has been cancelled. Apparently there were not enough entries and the IOL decided to cancel the event rather than have the Tour with just a few homes. We hope to see them back in full swing next year.

Carolina Beach Furniture offers 50% Year End Clearance – Just in time for the Holiday Season, Carolina Beach Furniture is having a year end clearance. Come into the store located at 1021 N. Lake Park Boulevard and find that special item you’ve been longing to purchase, now at 50% off.

Charter Communications to move to new office – Effective December 22, 2008, Charter Communications will be moving just a few blocks from their current location into a new office at 1401 N. Lake Park Boulevard, Suite 24, in the Food Lion Shopping Center. Come visit them at their new location for your cable, internet and telephone needs.

Seaside Grill at the Courtyard Marriott closed for lunch – Effective until the end of January, the Seaside Grill in the Courtyard Marriott will be closed for lunch. They are however still open for dinner and the dining room will open at 5:00 p.m. each evening.

Now that we are in the off season, a number of our local establishments have commenced their winter hours. If your business has changed their hours, please keep your Chamber informed by calling either Gail or Aimee or emailing at visitor@pleasureislandnc.org.

Here is a list of just a few establishments that have started their winter hours:
Black Horn bar and kitchen - Open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Big Daddy’s - Closed until March, 2009
Gulf Stream Restaurant - Will be closed December 24 – January 2

Change in Date!!! – Just to clear up any confusion, the January social at the Aquarium will be held on Wednesday, January 7th. This social is a little different as it will start at 6:00 p.m. Hope to see everyone there.
